Being able to be comfortable and sit still for long periods is so key in turkey hunting. In the past I’ve certainly spooked my fair share of birds by moving my shotgun from place to place to get more comfortable so when my 12 year old son said he wanted to hunt turkeys this past summer I knew I needed a few things to make sure he would be ready. So as I shopped for Christmas presents this past winter I loaded up on several items to outfit him for the upcoming spring hunt and one of the key items found in his stocking Christmas morning was a Lazy Leg package to help outfit his new shotgun.
As spring Turkey season rolled around and we hit the field it wasn’t long before we had action all around us and we had to sit down and wait out the birds and he was able to sit for several hours that day until harvesting a 10 inch Rio Grande Turkey at 15 yards.
No doubt in my mind he would not have been able to stay steady and sit motionless for so long with all the birds strutting around us with out the Lazy Leg helping to hold up his shotgun.
Thanks for helping make some great memories!
